Ken Shapiro is the founder of Internet Brokers. He is a graduate of New Trier East High School in Winnetka, Illinois and received his B.S. degree from the Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York. As a freshman at Syracuse University he took Humanities Doctoral courses. Before starting Internet Brokers, he developed new accounts for a Chicago TV station airing mostly Hispanic and financial programs and later he managed a TV station where he received mention in publications such as the Wall Street Journal and the Los Angeles Times. Some of the things he has been involved in as the founder of Internet Brokers have included being invited overseas by trade organizations from other countries to meet local companies, having an association with a trade organization founded by a relative of President Bush, and giving a presentation at an U.S.-African trade conference where the keynote speaker was the Assistant U.S. Secretary of State for African Affairs, Susan Rice (later, under the Obama Administration, the U.S. Ambassador to the U.N.). Ken Shapiro is a resident of Chicago.
